Experience Reality Lab (AR/VR)
IMMERSIVE STRATEGY FRAMEWORK FOR HIGH-STAKES DECISIONS

Since 2022, I led Arrowstreet’s AR/VR Experience Lab, using immersive technologies as a strategic tool to elevate client presentations and drive project wins. By tailoring AR/VR narratives to each pursuit, I supported high-profile developments such as Gibson Point, Seaport Circle, and Ora Seaport, while also collaborating with Arrowstreet's Experience Design team on impactful art installations including Urban Grove, the latest art installation at Seaport Boston, and In Full Bloom, the selected art concept for Rochester’s Sister Cities Bridge.

Technology used and tested include ARki App, Adobe Aero, Occulus VR Headset, Geopogo, Magic Leap AR/VR Headset, and supportive physical modeling using laser cutter and 3D printer

1. In Full Bloom, Rochester NY

Overview

“In Full Bloom” is a public art installation for Rochester’s Sister Cities Bridge, created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Flour/Flower City Mark. The design features a lilac tree emerging from an overturned millstone, with blossoms made from
fragmented elements of the city’s iconic logo that flow along the footpath. While Arrowstreet led the design, I created the augmented reality experience used to present the concept at full scale and in context. The immersive AR walkthrough helped the team secure the competition win from a pool of fifty national and international submissions.

Technology

When Adobe Aero proved unable to support the project’s complex geometry, I pivoted to an alternative Augmented Reality workflow. Given the tight timeline, Augment App was chosen and successfully deployed on site, achieving the desired results as seen below - images from on-site client review.

2. The Urban Grove, Lawn on D, Boston Seaport

Overview

Urban Grove is a public art installation commissioned by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority for The Lawn on D in South Boston. Designed as a shaded, immersive retreat within a highly active public space, the installation responds to rising summer heat while inviting reflection, social interaction, and play. Composed of sculptural “trees” with oversized reflective leaves and integrated seating “nests,” Urban Grove transforms from a calm daytime refuge into a vibrant, illuminated environment at night. The project balances whimsy, durability, and low maintenance, contributing to the ongoing refresh of one of Boston’s most beloved public destinations.

Technology

AR/VR experiences built with Adobe Aero and Magic Leap supported design iteration and on-site 1:1 visualization, enabling the design team to evaluate scale, texture, and color both within the office and at full scale on site. This immersive workflow gave clients an intuitive understanding of the sculpture’s spatial behavior and how people would engage with it, while helping refine and validate design decisions.

3. XR Design Communications

Overview

We used immersive on-site VR walkthroughs for Seaport Circle using Adobe Aero and Geopogo, translating complex design and site context into intuitive, real-time experiences for clients and developers. For other projects, we paired palm-sized 3D-printed models with QR-activated AR layers, blending physical craft with interactive storytelling to drive clearer alignment, stronger engagement, and faster decision-making.
